MCN scaremongering again, I should not be too worried, when was the last time you saw a 50cc scooter that was actually restricted it does not sound like something that could be easily enforced.

Crash statistics have a lot to answer for a "scooter" is classed as a motorbike hell 17 y/o bin them all the time regretfully so add to the total tally.

Also you would laugh at what constitutes as a "serious accident".

As Dan says i wouldn't worry! Even if it was made law how could they know what hp ur bikes puttin out? look at the amount of sd riders (me included) who have fitted pipes, pc111's remaps etc, no-one would be able to stop people derestricting them. My son bought a brand new scooter and the first thing we done was change everything on it so it will do 50mph now, when he first went out on it i followed him just to make sure he was ok and at 30mph it's fookin dangerous

There is (apparently ) a 106BHP ish limit on bikes in France, the limit only effects new bike sales. They haven't tried to impose a retro fit scheme.

A guy I know bought a brand new GSXR1000 about a year ago, at the first service he asked the tech if he'd de-restrict it for him "sorry mate can't do that..... BUT I can put a bit of tape on the wire you need to cut"

All in all I wouldn't be the least bit worried about a 100 BHP limit coming in.
