Comrade: The answer is no. In theory there is no reason why the 1290 couldn't be updated like the Adventures were but that involves a new sensor and a software upgrade. My recollection is that KTM charged buyers of the older Adventures for the upgrade. The memory could probably be confirmed or contradicted over on the Orange Crush site.

Pretty sure it don't.

I didn't think so but my ktm salesman/manager said that it did. He even told me to go test it out, which I refused. I thought maybe he knew considering he is the one that gets to go to all the new model KTM launches.

For fook sake comrades I said No, and it doesn't. Don't you think that KTM would promote it if it did?
Well actually I lied Holding down a special combination of keys on the multi-function control panel turns it on. It's not easy to find but it is there.

The salesman is right. Abs is abs. It doesn't care if your in corner or not. What it doesn't have is stability control.
