well, here goes:

IMHO the forum should be a welcoming place for ALL SD fans to mingle, the debate here is not "is this funny?", "do we care?" because for those unaffected this matter can be ignored, those affected will not speak out in a forum that permits openly homophobic language....it is up to those of us who feel we can voice our opinions on this to make ourselves heard.

I personally feel that any homosexual/bisexual individual reading posts or seeing avatars that communicate a less than welcoming/tolerant tone to their sexuality would merely leave this forum. Statistically there must be some gay SD owners out there and they deserve to feel welcome here. Whether there is malicous intent in the avatar or not, it is certainly enough to put off those offended by such material to the point where they probably won't join or will cover up their true orientation.

I found the KTM forums constant comments about twin exhausts (and whatever the hell else they're going on about) being gay, very juvenile. I like to think we're a bit more mature/open/welcoming on here.

Just for the record, I dont berate those of you who dont care about this issue, it clearly isnt your issue to fight so I understand why you wouldnt get involved. I am also in favour of free speech/contraversial view points etc but not to the point where they exclude others in a free and open forum like this. (hopefully that'll reduce the hate mails a bit )
