#3same happened to me on my SM, 500 miles and pow, giant nail, heard it when it happened, stock exhaust helped me then.
joe does not plug or patch, only replacement for me. the tyre patches on the road are the best place for us a MC riders to ride in, no shoulders no centers of lanes,

#4Punctures suck. Never had one yet.
Bev carries a repair kit in her gear bag whenever we go for a ride.
She also carries a length of hose in case I run out of fuel.
The FZ6 is so good on fuel. Sort of like having a mobile servo following behind.

#5I used to get quite a few on the Diablos and other sticky tyres I bought....they pick up all sorts of shit. Since I switched to Diablos Strada's I've not had a single puncture in 15000 miles. And the tyres are grippy enough, better in winter than Diablos or Corsas and I did a trackday on them last year with no complaints! Currently getting about 7000 miles per rear, the front has done nearly 15k!
Oh, and stop riding in the middle of the lane! There lies the crap that the cars sling around.

#8I have no idea about how or where you ride on the roads, but filtering and such usually means that you go "off the beaten path". And in the beaten path there's nails, screws, bolts, sharp stones, all of which loooove to lodge themselves into the deep grooves of new tyres. They just eat their way into the rubber. Naturally if you've got a worn tyre, there's less to eat through. Can't win!
