Just splashed out on a new car, so I've emptied the piggy bank. But I've wondered about buying a 1290 and realistically if I did, I would not be able to keep my luverly 990. So who got rid of a 990 for a1290 and then regretted seeing the 990 leave the paddock ?
I swapped my 2007 SDR for the 1290 way back in Feb 2014. No regrets whatsoever. The 1290 is way better than the old 990.
Swapped out my 2008 SD for the 1290....there is no comparison between the 2. The 1290 is so much more refined in pretty much all categories
The only thingood I regret is getting all those tickets and what not... insurance way too damn high. Being young and dumb is not so fun after you start paying for it all

Bought a car with my superduke money

When I got the 1290 I kept the 990 for about 12 months. Ended up selling it as in that first year I did 6000km on the 1290 and only 500 on the 990.
Essentially they did the same things but the 1290 was better everywhere, so no point in keeping both.
Do I miss the 990? Twist the throttle on the 1290 and you soon forget about it.

When I eventually get the 1290, even if I don't ride the 990 anymore, I'll just, let it sit in the living room or something. Too attsched
Suprised it's so https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aszIgThW8JA - when I (eventually) acquire my 1290 (RR? - still waiting............) my 990 will still be here.
