Any Snowmobilers in here ?

After taking 6 years off the sport, I've decided to get another machine and burn as much fuel as possible this comming winter. My last sled is considered a "classic" by some, and still drop's jaw's every time it's fired up 1997 yamaha V-max 4 (the same motor that brought Kenny Roberts world titles) and what a motor it was, 4 cylinder 2 stroke 180 HP on pump gas and up to 230 HP on race gas, but it being a little long in the tooth by todays standards, I just purchased a 2005 Yamaha RX-1 turbo sled, with just shy of 300 HP under the bonnet running pump gas at 14 lbs boost. Needless to say, rididng is going to be a bit different this year with that much HP at hand.

One of my old riding partners has kept at it and now is a national star/hero in the community of sledding here and anywhere theres mountian riding, and although I've raced motorcycles with this guy (Randy Swenson) he's at a whole new level of mountian riding, and I must admit ,I'm not that interested in doing what he does on his 400+ HP machine. but I am interested in getting a front row seat to watch all the action on the hill.

If ya got a minute , spend some time on this site and watch some of the trailers for the videos they shoot www.bigskyx.com they calll themselves Team Thunderstruck, I'm thinking on getting a decal for my sled with the same graphics as they use and calling myself Team Stunned & Stuck, anyway, just want to say hi to any sledders and look back here later and I will post some pics of some winnter madness !

Nice to hear from another enthusiast. You definately have the right user name for a mountain sledder.

I used to have a Yamaha mountain max all done up. I thought about a turbo, but hp is rarely my limiting factor in the mountains, so now I am riding an XP800r with a 163 track.

I was out on the SD today doing a bunch of redline runs. It made me think of the sled, both excellent ways to get the adrenaline flowing!!!

Thanks for the sled link and.............stunned & stuck, hilarious , do it.

Joe, that wasn't "my" chopper, it was being mocked up for a (if you can believe this) GUN on the bottom of it ? Not your regular gun, but a giant water pistol that shoot's a jet of compressed air and water at ........get this.......3500 psi

It's used for puttin out fires !

AHh?!.... "we couldn't stop the fire" sing it with me....

Hey BF, thanks for the info, gives me a new perspective. I thought you used it to get your mates out of a jam on the snowbuggies.

That looks SO AWESOME !!
