Looks like I've got a job out there next month. I shall be there for 2 weeks.
Is there anything I should try to do if I have some free time?
Colonel_Klinck
Yeah mojitos and lots of them
I was out there about 7 years ago on a fashion shoot. An amazing place and def somewhere to visit before Casto pops off and there is a change of government. Then the US money starts flooding in, changing it forever.
TBH I didn't get a chance to do any toursist shit as I was working taking pics of 2 fit fashion models. Was a dirty job but someone had to do it I did however get scanked on a weed deal and ended up buying shit.. quite litterally horse shit Damn they saw me coming, fooking Commies aren't to be trusted
I'd just say see as much of the Island as you can. It is quite unlike anywhere else I've ever been. Havana is great fun. Oh and did I mention Mojitos?
Ducati Pete
Thanks fella. I'm quite looking forward to it as I've been to most places, this is a new one and it's a bit different to most.

If you see a short bald-headed wank walking the streets of Havana sporting a Honda Ride Red backpack, tackle that fooker, punch him in the kidney and take it from him. Little bastard bagged that thing from a hotel lobby and I swore I get it back. Your reward shall be 7 consecutive riding days of heavenly roads in Northern California!

There was just a right up in a motorcycle magazine about renting old Harleys and touring around the Island. I am not sure what mag, but It was recent so you should have ggod luck with a google search. I would not recommend wearing anything that says ride red in a communist country.
Stupid Luke
( Pssssssst Pete, dont take that red Honda ride backpack you stole from the states. Duke4Dirk has put a contract out on you )

Hey there,
I've been a few times, both on holiday but also both times left the hotel as soon as I could to travel around the country without being part of some organised tour and packaged together with a load of tourists. Both times I rented a small bike or moped for next to nothing and rode about on that.
First thing to understand is that there is a two-tier monetary system with all the hotels and tourist things operating on Convertible Cuban Pesos (or something like that) which are linked to US dollars and the other cuban money which is virtually worthless, (and tourists are not meant to deal in it). This means that , in effect a bar tender working at a resort can earn far more than a doctor working in a local hospital. It's bonkers, and not right. I just made sure I spread my money about as much as I could to everyone I met out in the wilds. They are great people.
Friend just come round to visit, I'll post more later.
