Great day. Very cold and damp at the start. Track was totally patchy, wet, damp, dry. Wet enough to kick up spray from the bike in front, then dry. Basically nightmare.
But as the day went on it got warmer, the sun came out and everything started to get better. Except for the guy on the Kawasaki me and Schnauser were sharing the pits with. He totally binned it down Paddock Hill. Write off we reckon. Bend was bad all day, dry on the approach, sucking you in then over the crest it was wet and you suddenly realised that the angle you were leaning at was totally inappropriate!
Schnauser had a bike cam so hope to get to see some footage up here. I was following him and a guy came up behind trying to get past, (we were both taking it a bit easy), and this guy in red and black ended up on the grass next to me - doing a very good impression of a motocrosser. Can't wait to see what it looks like on film! Maybe I shut the door on him, I don't know. But I just chose the line I was on, if he wanted to come up and past then it was his look out.
Having self catering service made all the difference. Thanks Jules!
BINNED IT!!! No really
He ate gravel. Will be tasting it for a few days. Thinking about it for months!
