1911 is an excellent pistol. A part of American History, but the glock is much more reliable hands down. If I was going into battle or protecting my family from a home invasion I would definetly want the Glock as a side arm. It's stupid simple. .40cal is a great round, but my personal choice would be preferably 9mm or a 45. It's all about shot placement folks, not nock down power. 9mm = faster target acquisition.

I have handguns just because I find them fun to shoot at the range... don't really have any delusions about needing them for my safety, especially not when a Mossberg 590 sits in my closet 10 feet away from the gun safe.
