California guys - any lawyer recommendations?

Cop wrote me for 23109(c) "exhibition of speed." He alleges that he saw me doing a wheelie.

No speeds or anything besides "exhibition of speed" written on the paper.

The 'I' for infraction was circled, and then crossed out, and then the 'M' for misdemeanor was circled.

So I'm facing a misdemeanor and have a mandatory court appearance. Don't want to take any chances; need to hire an attorney.

i've never used them - but they set up a booth almost every weekend at Alices Restaurant where i hang out weekends.

Yeah man, it's criminal court. I have to show up for arraignment and get assigned a trial date.

Do I plead not guilty or do I plead no contest with explanation?

I'll probably give up riding if I get this misdemeanor.

Are you guilty? If not then you have your answer. No contest is the same as guilty. I'm sticking with my first assessment. Plead not guilty and see where it goes from there. Something tells me this is not a top priority in the criminal justice system.

Just an update. DA is trying to fook me over hard. Showed up to arraignment today to find out the DA added misdemeanor reckless driving on top of my charge of misdemeanor exhibition of speed. So now I'm facing two misdemeanors. Are you kidding me...

Judge gave me 30 more days for arraignment to get my own lawyer.

I was denied a public defender. So I'll be paying $2000+ for an attorney

personally i would get the best lawyer
