I think it looks damn nice and fun to ride.

Anybody had a chance to try one out?

My local dealer has a normal and an R one he wants to get rid of urgent.
Since KTM snatched up Husky they dropped all the road models and he need to get them out of the door.
Not a bad bike, got offered a few times to have a go on it but never took it up since I don't want to get rid of the SD for this.

would you consider this to be a similar riding experience to the SD?

I really like the look of it and even considerered it (briefly) but is underpowered compared to the SD and IMO has the worst engine config with a parrallel twin (sorry old Triumph dudes). Seat is a killer more MX than road bike. Cant see KTM bringing out a version of it but would be pretty cool with a 690 donk in it.

That actually sounds pretty good. Do they have 180 or 270 degree firing order?

Haven't ridden one personally but have loved the look since the first time I'd seen one. Can't think of a more perfect bike for an urban environment such as London....certainly none funner.

This right here would be WAAAAAAAAY more fun:

What if ... KTM got their shit together and built a 1/2-size 1290 engine, and put in, well - a whole bunch of street bikes (SM, Duke, whatever).

As for the Nuda R, I'd pop for the new (liquid-cooled, 4V) Hypermotard SP - it's big fun:

What are the requirements to be able to demo motorcycles? Does every dealer do it for any model or...? Am I able to test ride the hypermotard?

Seriously, I think that most dealers that offer test rides require you to be 25+ and have insurance. That should do it.

That's some good information. I figured you probably needed to sound very interested in wanting to possibly buy the motorcycle you want to demo (especially making it knwon to the salesperson how you just need an extra push to make the purchase happen). Just wasn't too sure if dealers had demo bikes often enough. There's a few pretty big dealers close enough to me, I might try makign some phone calls and see what happens
