Does anyones partner ride KTM's?

I am trying to get my missus to get on a KTM 690 Duke as I think she would love it. She currently rides a gsxr600 06, but it is a handful for her size and weight as she is pretty tiny as 52kgs. The head down sitting position makes it harder for her to control the bike at low speeds compared to the nice upright and wide bars the KTM has.

I would have to get the seat cut down a bit and probably lower the bike and inch to suit her height, but she won't be using all that suspension either way. I just think she would love riding on one of these, but can't find anyone about that owns one to test ride. She is hesitant about going to the dealer and even if she did they don't have one in stock to test ride.

So has anyones partner here ridden KTM's, in particular the 690 Duke and what did they think of it?

I had a Duke II for 3 years, and have ridden the 690 for a few hundred miles. I am 6'3" (210), and it's a tall bike. It actually has very short suspension travel, compared to the SMC or SM(R) 690, but still a very tall seat height. If she is short, this will be a problem, even if you cut the seat down. The seat on any SM style bike is marginal, so figure she'll want to stop every 70 miles or so to rest the tush. As much as I love the Dukes, I would honestly look at a new Ducati 696 Monster - low seat, V twin (better for longish distances), less $ than the 690 Duke, blah, blah.

Oh, make no mistake - I'll find the first (used) 690 Duke sold in my area and put it right next to the SD. Like the SD, the Duke 690 drops in value rather quickly (but that's good in my case). Like the Duke II, if you understand what this bike is for (and how to ride it), it is a very fun ride.
For shorter or beginner riders, the Monster 696 looks like a very cool ride.
As would the Aprilia Mana.
