Not sure what I should be taking from this, but I find it amusing. Seems like it was done for humor's sake, and perhaps to show well their TC, ABS, and Ohlin's suspension works - ? When one thinks about it, via electronics, a true "omni" bike may not be far around the corner. Seriously, what really separates one type of motorcycle from the next? tyre, ground clearance/suspension travel? Think Audi All-Road - ?
Seriously, Ducati powns on Pikes Peak with Multistradas (and having ridden with that crew, I can attest that they are wicked fast on closed circuits as well). Not 1199Rs. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's the most well-suited bike for the task, but if set-up specifically, it can keep pace with just about anything. So why not a 1199 with knobs?
As much as I enjoy ownership several bikes at any given time, this is where I welcome the potential of electronics. I would like to have bikes that are more multi-role capable; and while this video is perhaps illustrative of a ridiculous extreme to that end, it seems that this is where some companies may be headed.
