I have done a little research on the snipe angle and must apologize for not understanding that Shade and all those that followed was completely correct. I do see that it is not much differant than bidding by proxy and no-one is left without the oportunity to have the item if they have the highest bid, no matter when that bid was placed. When you bid on an item and it shows you are the highest bidder, whether by proxy or not, you will stay the higher bidder till outbid. That could be early in the bid process or at the last possible second. The snipe technology just lets you be hidden. I liken it to the devices that can detect whether you are being aimed at with a radar gun. The traffic codes determine the safe speed that vehicles can travel, law enforcement sets up operations that protect the public from people that do not choose to obey the rules. The detector tells the rule breaker that it is clear to break the rules as it is giving an "all clear" signal. This is designed to beat the system of rules of engagement that the general public have determined fair. This technology, available to anyone who so chooses to "aquire", keeps the enforcement from being hidden.
One technology keeps you hidden, at an advantage the other informs you of something hidden to give you an advantage.
Act only on the maxim through which you can at the tyme will that it be universally fair.
