used to have a GasGas 280 txt pro ..... awesome bit of kit, have also ridden the yamaha's, fantics and betas - if you haven't ridden them before try to ride as many as you can - there all great.

I have an older Sherco 290 (2004) that is very sturdy but somewhat out of date compared to recent models. If you have the money, then buy new, otherwise for a beginner it won't make a large difference as long as the bike runs well.

Here in Finland (funland ) we have very limited amount of dealers that sells these trial bikes. And there is only 10- 15 used bikes for sale at this moment I do not have the possibility of test the bike before buying and get it delivered to in the middle of nowhere ( where i live in ) Tricky situation..

I think this one would be nice: http://www.joainternational.fi/index.ph ... Itemid=110

What do you guys think?

I haven't seen the new Scorpa models, however in the past it seemed they had nice motors, (Yamaha), but not great frames and suspension. Gasgas, Sherco, and Beta I feel all have excellent bikes and you would not be disappointed. Montessa also has some good models but you might have trouble finding spare parts. What are the other dealers that you can buy from? Also what is your height/weight?

Thanks for the replies

i just asked couple offers from Trial-bike retailer and price for new 2017 GasGas TXT Pro 300 was 6431€ The Scorpa SR Twenty 300 2017 will cost 6578€ I have done some research and i am leaning towards GasGas

If anyone have anything against GasGas, may he speak now or forever hold your peace

Have fun on the Gasser! As far as working on them, just keep in mind *all* trials motorcycles are weird.... they basically pack a full sized race dirt bike into a much smaller area. Nothing like a 2-stroke trials sound, not ring-ding-ding, more like a purr: roooong-dooong-dooong...

ktmguy - Thanks for the info

I asked another offer from Honda Montesa Cota 300RR dealer and the price were shocking 9000€ Montesa i think would be better for me because it has 4-stroke engine, i have never owned 2-stroke bike in my life BUT because the price is that high and GasGas have a great reputation, i will choose GasGas.

Only thing between me and my new trial is my finance-situation I guess i have to be very nice to my banker, so he/she will give me a loan for it Wish me good luck
I thought bigger engine is better Not really What is the main reason to get 250 over 300 (may sound like a stupid question)? They are about the same weight and everything else is almost the same
When it come to Trials (unless your a Pro) bigger capacity bikes are not better, the extra power will work against you.
If you're just starting out and depending on your weight a 125 can sometimes be a better choice.

It depends somewhat on your height and weight which I asked previously... Also the big vs. small engine debate can rage all day in many clubs as well. The engines both 2T and 4T are extremely torquey and mild mannered so even the "big" bikes are not too much to handle. I like the 300cc bikes, although I've never tried a 250 2T. The 4T 250's can handle really well, however I prefer 2-stroke in trials so my next bike will probably be the same. The 125 2T's are a bit lighter, but you often to have to rev them pretty high which can make them a little less user friendly IMO.

I'm a bit taller/bigger than you, 195cm/90kg so your experience on a 300cc might be a bit different... Even so, whatever your dealer can get for you will be fine, 250 or 300. Trials engines don't rev up like a road or dirt bike, the power is very mellow. As mentioned earlier, it's clutch, clutch, clutch, and some more clutch. You will really like your new GasGas!
