I'm after some advice, Unfortunatly I'm having to sell my well loved SD it's been up for sale for about 6 weeks on eBay, bike trader, etc etc but I haven't even had a phone call, email or anything.
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Am I priced too high, wrong time of year?

Cheers Moose

Don't know in the UK, but in Portugal this time of year it's a good time do make good deals, unfortunetly people usually buy them in the Spring time...

Can't help you about the price, uk market is a lot more competitive than portuguese.

Good luck selling

What spec is it? What goodies are on it? How much you priced it up for?

Without those, I don't think we can tell you if it is over priced. But Mr T. is right about the time of year, it's the same here as most bikers hide in the winter and come out to play in the spring.

i think it looks like a tidy bike and probably not over priced but maybe it's the wrong time of the year for it

As others have said I suspect the time of year and lack of a recognisable summer havent helped your sale. If you dont need the money desperately I would reckon relist it for same price next spring.

I suspect your asking price is little more than trade money for an 09 bike, have you got a price from a KTM dealer? The dealer would bid low though as he is likely to have to hold on to your bike until Spring to shift it too. Perhaps you could get on to display in their showroom and sell on your behalf though?

KTM havent helped you either. With most brands an 09 bike would be updated and improved from an 07 bike, sometimes a totally new bike;

07 fireblade against 09 blade
07 1098 against 09 1198

With your Superduke, anyone considering your bike could just as easily buy exactly the same thing two years older for less money.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you are not the first to struggle to sell a Superduke.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with your comments, it all makes sense. I never realised it would be so tricky to sell such a outstanding bike, after my first ride on her I felt so much more confident with my riding compared to my previous bikes.
I'm not in a mad rush for the money but due to unforeseen circumstances she might as well go to someone that can ride her. I read threads about changing sprockets, air filters adding power commanders to make the SD go faster & rather than spending money on her I won't use or get back I feel I'm doing the right thing, I just don't want to give her away.

there are a number of good SDs that have been for sale for a few weeks now, mine included, and no-one's biting. I think it's just the time of year. Like comedy, timing is

Hell KTM is still wondering why it was so hard to sell such a nice bike.

There are two for sale on ADVrider right now, both priced fairly and neither one moving.

To be honest, from what I have experienced in my relatively brief ownership of the SD. They are an awesome bike but they are like some sort of industry secret. Not one of my friends was aware KTM even made road bikes.
I have spoken to quite a few bike riders down at the local hangouts and pretty much none of them had ever heard of the super duke and again most had no idea that KTM made road bikes. KTM's marketing department needs a serious kick in the ass.
SD's in my opinion are hard to sell because people are not looking for them. They do not come into their radar when researching a replacement bike (be it new or second hand). Every one that rides one raves about their prowess, yet the general public has no fkn clue. Ask Joe Blogs if he has heard of an R1 or Gixxer and the answer will mainly be yes. Ask Joe Blogs about KTM and most will say "ah yeah them orange MX bikes, good bit of kit", did you now they make some awesome road bikes too? , answer "no shit ? really ? never knew that"
