Parents shackled me with it.

I would have preferred Heywood Jablomey, but they weren't having any of that.

My nieces and nephews are huge fans of Spongebob Squarepants and I've been known to be a little squidly on the bike from time to time. Seemed a good fit.

Some of you already know this, I own a pub in Scottsdale, Arizona called the TT Roadhouse. It is (of course) named after the Isle of Man TT races. Lots of vintage (and current) racing stuff all around the place. And the jukebox is filled with lots of old punk-rock, rock a billy, and ska.
Also, loads of quality booze!

hey all, joe won't name you one by one... here is the story of jehadjoe,

it is intentionally misspelled cos I am not a jihadist, or one who fights a holy war. what mine means is close to that though.

jehad is one who gives his own life for a cause greater than himself, fookin crazy bastads!!

the only reason joe chose this name is cos after buying this nutter bike.... it turned him into a nutter dude.... aka hooligan, where is my bud duke990 998? (he asked me this today).

I laughed the whole time I read this most excellent thread! I for one say that regardless of the names we all know who we are, SuperDan is a super dude!!

It's all tied into my tattoo.
I'm Mel, and I bear the Aegis.

Greek mythology has it that Athena, Goddess of wisdom and teaching, borrowed her father Zeus' shield, or Aegis, at times of battle.

She also had strong connections with Medusa, who claimed to be more attractive and intelligent than Athena.
Athena turned her hair into snakes, and it was the contrast between the aesthetic face and hideous snakes that petrified folk.
Medusa then claimed to still be more attractive, so Athena sent Perseus to kill her, which he duly did.

To show the world what happened to those that upset her, Athena nailed Medusa's head to the Aegis.

I therefore have the symbol of the Goddess of Wisdom and Teaching on my back, so she is looking out for me and I can get on with my job with her favour.

The owl in top of the Aegis is an Athena Noctua, or little owl, the Owl of wisdom.
Again, tied into the Athena myth, especially connected with her City, Athens.

Bet your sorry you asked now...

http://www.lambrettausa.com/default.aspx

The Lambretta was a line of motor scooters originally manufactured in Milan, Italy, by Innocenti but also manufactured, under license by Société Industrielle de Troyes" (S.I.T.) in France, NSU in Germany, Serveta in Spain, API in India, Pasco in Brazil, Auteca in Colombia, and Siambretta in Argentina. In 1972, the Indian government bought the Milanese factory and the rights to the Lambretta name, creating Scooters India Limited, or SIL. Today, the Innocenti brand name rights are owned by Fiat, whereas the Lambretta, and Lambro, brand names are owned by SIL and are licensed to many companies who want association with the iconic brand, including: Taiwanese manufactured scooters; Indian light vehicle engines; British fashion clothing; and Chinese produced watches.

BTW.... that is a nice tat you have too.

A good guess would link my name to my farming occupation.

However I actually got the name because I am that guy that always says, "yeah, sounds good, I'll be there for sure", but in the end, I rarely show upl

Yes, eventually the guys caught on and labelled me Bailer, because I usually tend to bail on most organized social events. A bit of a hermit in my advancing years.

Was not my first choice, but my first choice never got registered.

My father in law called my SV650S a Crotch Rocket. [The man knows very little about bikes.] So, after my first choice sat stagnant for a while, I reregistered with Crotchrockety. I may be a crotchety fook, but I'm about as rockety as my old SV650S.

Just looking back at this i noticed i may have misrepresented myself a little; 66 is the year I was born, not the number of years I've been up and running, so to speak...
