I got my 1,000k service today and at the dealer a young man was in for the first service on his CBR. He told me it is his 5th bike in 5 months (moving up sequentially from a 250cc) and that he does not yet have his license because of the "tricky" questions on the written portion of the test. He also told me he had the bike up to 107 mph in first gear (12,000 rpm apparently). He didn't seem to care that he did it (if he really did) during his break-in period. Obviously not an important anecdote, but I needed to get it off my chest. Like John Hiatt sings:

well there outta be a law with no bail
[trash a bike] and you go to jail
with no chance for early parole
you dont get out until you get some soul
