Just to set the tone for 'rim tape' comments

Guys,

I have been on here for a long time. I sometimes say shit to be provocative because I'm bored.

I'm a designer by profession. All my comments regarding the aesthetics and how we choose to do up our bikes is purely subjective.

OK?

So if I inadvertently piss of people because of this then I didn't mean to do so. What I really want is the "rim-tape' brigade to defend themselves and enter into a lively debate about why they do it. (well actually they don't have a leg to stand on because it sucks)

So anyway,

I miss Stupid Luke because he just slagged everyone off all the time and was fooking entertaining!
Not everyone wants to enter into a mod pissing contest my SD990 has all the aftermarket performance mods I will do aside from maybe a slipper clutch and a custom tune that I will be getting done in the next week or so.. With that being said I had a package delivered on Friday with the OEM wheel sticker tape do I feel the need to defend my decision? no! the same way I don't need to defend my choice in a blonde girlfriend over a redhead it's personal choice and belittling someone for making their bike a little different then others is not something I think is a constructive discussion either way good luck with the topic
I installed my rim tape after I had my new tyres put on. I bought the tape from Bicknell's Race and Rim Tape Emporium. I picked up about .5 mph and about 1 mpg with the addition of the tape. Now people say "I see you have rim tape installed, your bike must be very fast" duh, everybody knows that.

Are we starting a new thread to let the old one die?

Haven't had time to read the rest of the comments, but just wondering if the rim tape from the SDR will fit my '05 990? Thanks guys
Mine came with them, I thought they were standard Thy're staying as other than the tank-side R they're about the only orange on it.

Gotta have some orange
From here on out I'm going to ban everyone who has modded their bikes with rim tape.
