im always amazed at how few people know what a KTM is let alone a Super Duke. ive had my bike for sale in the yard and was out there when a guy stopped. he said whats this? never heard of them.
i told him about the bike and after a few minutes he got back into his car looking quizzical and drove off!

Nice thing is if they don't know it, they are probably gullible to funny answers....
Like:

Oww yes Ducati but this one is to Ducati as the Bugatti to is to Volkswagen way faster and luxurious!

Oh I'm not surprised I made this myself from Kawasaki and Moto Guzzi parts. The T stands for Tom, my name!

Feel free to add some other ideas.....
Just tell them its from one of the Batman movies

Q:What kind of bike is that?
A: A KTM.
Q: Yeah but who makes it?
A: KTM
Q: I got that but who makes it?
A: K-T-M

I just tell them is a Harley.

See that thar V twin?!
I even had a sales guy at a Honda shop think it was a Ducati.
What kind of crazy Ducati is that? It's looks like some kind of bat bike.!?

It's a Ducati B.A.T. Bike. The KDM special edition model. It only came to the U.S. for two years.
I get it all the time as well so i can sympathize with you on that. The latest answer i get now is " Oh yeh one of those single cylinder learner approved bikes that they make in India or somewhere like that" .....Grrrrrr! Actually no it's nothing like that all!!
There has been a few times over the years when I wished I'd never heard of them!
