Saw this on FB. If true surely the gov have crossed the line? Journalists should not be treated like this. A few over here will hopefully be banged up soon but they are scum bag tabloid press hacking dead kids phones She seems like a serious journalist.

If we were all really free I could grow and smoke a splive in my back yard without having to worry about a swat team arriving and throwing the cuff's on for smoking flower's,,,,,,,,,,,,really stupid is what it is,,,,,,,they're probly reading this and watching my house from space with a high res camera too.,,,,,,,,,,

Maddog you're going to jail for sure. This administration doesn't seem to care much about it's citizens privacy. The worst part is all the usual groups who fight this kind of thing aren't saying anything.

This country has become a police state and the powers that be can do whatever they want under the guise of law enforcement. Any rights we supposedly have aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Didn't Obama sign some documents that give them the authority to detain anyone they think is a threat to security for a indefinite period?
This includes protesters christians anyone who complains about the Government etc..
So basically they can just make some story up about you and your stuffed.

I'm sure thats all true and I wasnt meaning to upset you, just having a bit of fun

In fact I have a reasonable understanding of the need to balance certral authority with checks and balances as seemed sensible in the the context that the constitution was written. Seems to me that the right to bear arms is all to often these days the right to arm bears with predictable tragic outcomes.

Happily buy you a beer next time I cross the pond while you try and convince me otherwise and swap bike bullshit

We are all just trying to get the market to free up enough unearned dosh for the next biggest thing in consumer necessity . Around these parts it includes the big number 1290 and if we really squeeze another unsuspecting purchaser of our worthless product, we may be able to throw an R in there too.

What amazes me is that the Patriot Act - all 1000 plus pages of it - was ready to be passed in less than two months and no one questioned the speed of it, or asked if it wasn't hiding in someone's closet ready for just such an occasion. Fear is a great way to keep people from rational thought. So is a useless education system.

SDNerd, I absolutely agree, always refreshing to see that some people are paying attention. I would add that the Clinton administration was behind the deregulation of the securities industry in the 90s (I forget the name of the legislation), which indicates that both parties are to blame for bringing us "the financial meltdown."

We have seen a moving of original thoughts and ideas in original posts, to, how the fook did this spew tie in? in an unprecedented supply as of late.
I am trying to figure out just how in the hell we went from freedom of the press to the limited capacity of a certain members base agent.
Nerd hgits a home run on the political commentary. My question is how much and or how much longer does the apathy train get to keep rolling before the next whistle stop?
The Tea party brings a fervor in a direction that holds no comfort for me but at least they trying something. We need a crumpet party that espouses full support of most social programs, with a slogan, Let them Eat Cake.
