Once again it's is great to see all the new blood the 1290 is bringing into the fold of this well renowned forum known as Superduke.net. Arguably the finest bike specific forum on the interwebs. Also seeing some new names popping up with questions regarding the current bike...nice.

You will find this is probably the most passionate group of owners you'll ever come across. There is a wealth of knowledge in these anals including everything from the most mundane maintenace task to the most complicated troubleshooting and repairs. From basic mods to get the bike to run right on up to complete engine balancing and blueprinting to sqeeze every last 1/10th of a horsepower this motor is capable of (most of us landed somewhere in between).

We're a pretty tight knit group with the usual squabbles that inevitably transpire when a difference of opinion comes up but generally there is much respect between us (except for the occasional oddball that surfaces). Great to see all of the folks from various nations that enjoy the unique charachter of the SD represented here!

Which brings me to my point of this long winded post...update your profiles to include your locations if you haven't already (thanks Don, G'day mate). Doesn't have to be too specific but it let's us old crumudgeons know who we are conversing with and will make some of the help/questions your seeking/we provide (and vise versa) a little more usefull.

Cheers
Here here! Should be a compulsory option at sign up as it's nice to see where people are from. Can save some lost in translation moments as well.

The other side of the coin is that some members, including servicemen and women, for reasons of personal / national security, do not want to reveal their locations. So, while I agree it is nice to know where members are to facilitate the exchange of proper info, I'm against making it mandatory. BTW, this is not speculation on my part, but has arisen as an actual issue since I've been a mod.
Again....no need to be specific...UK, NZ, AUS, CA, MI, etc are more than adequate. No security concerns with these types of generalities. Been there, done that.
If theres letters in the place were you put letters your existence can be found.

Nice summary of the forum from Lowrance. I have been a member of a dozen or so forums for different bikes I've owned, and I've never felt more at home than on SD.net. That's partly because I have two kids in diapers and zero social life...

I think location should be encouraged, nice to see how internationally cosmopolitan the SD community is. Some people might not want to share though...

Regarding anals, all I'm seeing is what comes up in the naked pics thread, am I missing something?

I just think we should have gifs to post up on people replies or threads if the don't say where they are from, an example being:

I think anyone would post up their location, hell I reckon they give you a night with their wife if they could get Stalkers face off their thread.
Christ that's like subliminal messaging
