Great vid sent to me today. Ive not got much experience of this but having been out on dirt on my other KTM (Chicago front sus mountain bike....also up for sale ) I am now going to invest a lot more in a full sus bike. Dirt riding and downhill riding is a lot of fun and the Olympic MTB track is a ride away from me Its closed off until the games but that whole area is nice to ride.

Cant beat it for riding fitness for the SD and the EXC too.

How much you looking for dude for the MTB? (bear in mind we all remember you got it at a bargain price )

I would love a full sus bike, expensiiiiiive though, I live by loads of woods but they are not particialy hilly (still mage to crash though). Unless your doing full on down hill hard tail is better.

When I lived in Market Rasen the woods near me had a secret(ish) downhill section, made of wood with big drop offs etc, pretty knarly some 9ft drop offs, but too much for my hard tail really, then at the bottom, a cool wall:



Then a few non wooden downhill trails coming off it (this is all I could find on youtube) which I could run down on my bike:

Great vid Shade. Been looking at full sussy MTBs myself, instead of an off-roader, to get fit and join a couple of mates who are really hooked on downhill riding.

Canyon (German, mail order only) are really good value, top spec components www.canyon.com - bikes are supposed to be a quite a bit cheaper in German than the UK.

Am totting up a Specialized, a Giant or a Cube. The Giant is winning so far. KTM do some wicked bike of course but finding a local dealer is tough (who has stock) and i neeed to ride it before i buy. At this price point i am not chancing online specs, ive got to ride it to know if geometry is right for me.

Basic specs will include hydraulic disc brakes and fully adjustable suspension that i can set sag to my weight.

Off road riding is the next best thing to the EXC imo and it really is the kind of exercise i dont need motivating to do

If you get one, we should meet up for rides. There are some nice areas round here.

I will check out the ride to work scheme, not sure I will qualify though! I'm a minimum salary worker living off meagre share dividends
