Must stop abusing 1290 as it is cheap crap

Might have to go and find some quality Jap mirrors for my KTM as the Austrian ones suck

Came down off a mono badly today, had to drop it quick smart due to copper appearing from nowhere, my fault entirely for dropping the front down violently, as it hit the floor both mirrors snapped off and landed on the road.

Must admit the front did come down a little hard, but we are not talking blowing from fork seals hard or anything......ho hmmm, 25k for this.....back to the Jap bikes for me when I replace it, I know I said this bike was a keeper when I first purchased it, but I have since realised this will be the last KTM for me.

Wonder what it is worth as a trade-in on the Aprilia or BMW

I think he did actually see it happen, even if I did drop it down quick, I think he was too busy laughing to start his bike a chase me down the road......I know I would have, it must have looked fooking funny seeing $400 worth of mirrors fly off the bike and bounce down the road.

Not sure they are made in China (same as Jap bikes) as I have never had a set break off a Jap bike and I have had many of them, these must be manufactured in North Korea or Somalia

Shouldn't this be a warranty issue?

Throw a set of bar ends on, makes the line of the bike a lot better.

Get an RC8. Not as much power as the 1290, but looks a shitload better. And the build quality is mind blowing. I love mine - it's almost as comfortable a seating position as the SDR I had but heaps better fuelling and a lot more power. 14k will get you a good second hand one in Oz...
