I've just spent 2 weeks around the Cote d' Azur and the maritime Alps . Every day I wished I was on the bike as it's bike paradise...

We have the Dark Dog Moto Tour playing around there almost every years...
Not the better corner for me because I found it too hot... I prefer "Auvergne" or "Alsace" or " haute Savoie"
Anyway lots of mountains here in France means lots of mountain roads

I'm biking down there in September, spending 5 days going all the way across the Pyrenees, stopping in st Tropez for 5 nights then spending 5 days riding up the Alps, up the Italian border into Switzerland then back up to England. 3000 miles in total, with a pillion. Can't wait.

All the roads there are awsome, just try the ones along les gorges du verdon out of Castellane. From Castellane to the coast is great also. Just watch out for idiots on the roads, like push bikers mainly, they seem to pay more tax and so are allowed to ride 10 wide on the roads. Some of the drop offs can be spectacular next to the roads so don't overshoot the turn.
