just gone and got my bike out to service it and get it all ship shape only to find that about 40% of the tank has blistered!?

anyone else had this issue?

it's just a normal black early tank.

Not had the issue but has there been petrol left on it as its not normal paint, its more of a rubberised coating isnt it!?

Arnt the early black tanks just plain plastic with no finish on them? Ethanol fuel used?

Looks like your SD needs some Clearasil.

How long has it been since the gas cap has been opened? just wondering about the pressure in the tank causing shrinkage which has caused the paint to lift? It has been a very VERY cold winter! (ive had mini palm trees in my garden for the last 5 years and this last winter has killled them all off, and all my neighbours mini palms too )

I noticed some pimples like that at the base of the tank, but the seat covers it up. Mine has been under cover for the winter as well and I'm not sure if it was there before. Mine is an 09 model

is the plastic leaking, or is it just the paint?

Just Called Dave Barkshire my local KTM dealer who said if i run the bike up to him he'll take some pictures and send them off to KTM to see if they can shed any light on it.

What did you wash it with ? Detergent ? Did you use and polish of any kind?
