Yeah welcome to our world dude. Somehow I've never been nailed by one, which is a miracle! (jinx) A lot of them tend to get vandalised here, a favorite attack being setting them on fire. Now they are putting them on top of 20 foot high polls so that isn't a option

Have to agree that speed cameras are not a great pro Police tool and kinda gets the back up of any general law abiding citizen.
I very much feel in todays society those who play by the rules get persicuted and those who dont and have nothing to lose get away with it day after day in many ways/shapes/forms.
It not difficult for the scroats to buy a car or steal a car and put false plates on, put a fake address down on the V5 etc and drive around as they please, and if they get stopped do there best to get away by putting members of public in danger and risk losing there licence which they have not got anyway because they dont have one or are disqualifed anyway.
Every time I ride my bike I risk getting caught and losing my licence, job, life etc, driving/riding like a tosser kills not outright speed IMO.
It kind of made me laugh about the court case where by the guy would not reveal the driver in the car which was caught speeding by means of NIP, his case was why should I? "you do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence......." he had a fookin good point! ECHR basically said that its your responsabilty as a motorist to disclose who the driver is??
Is there not an EU country that only dish out fines as they cannot prove who the motorist is? Definately a stealth tax if you ask me.
You might find this odd coming from what I do for a living but fighting crime is what I joined for......

Dan makes sum good points, ive had a few fines cum thru from a cloned plate of mine a few years ago! Cameras are just revenue earners, nuthin mor nuthin less!!!
Id rather get pulled by a real life copper anyday, act humble and as long as your not doin anythin real stupid, 9 times ouuta 10 you will be let off with a caution!!
Real coppers also appreciate that speed in the right situation/conditions is not dangerous and not worth the extra paperwork, ive had unmarked police cars pull along side me many times with nuthin more than a wagging finger!

Politicians catch on to the revenue collecting thing fast.
The other day I got pulled over in the van to check registration, licence and so on. There where about six cops doing this while there was a rape case on the other side of town and they couldn't catch the guy....
Serve and protect ... my arse!
Time for revolution and dump these idiots in parliament, we pay their wages so they should do what we tell them!
Unfortunately the real officers doing their job are getting painted with the same brush...

I don't think it will actually happen here. Like one poster said they can't give you a ticket if they don't know who you are. Plus it would probably turn out like our 2 red light cameras did where I live. The contract to maintain them ran out so now they don't even work.
