Oh GAWD should I sell my S4Rs for one of these...?

Anyone here have first hand experience on both bikes who'd like to share some knowledge? I can't get this SD out of my head.....

I dunno why as my bike is great, I love riding it. Plenty fast, handles great, fantastic brakes, a comfortable bike for all day riding. The range sucks though, only 100 miles before you've got to find gas. that's probably my only complaint.

The SD though looks like Satan himself would ride it. From the looks of it, it seems that you just get on it and ride, no worries about keeping it clean etc. Honestly I'd say that I've never enjoyed the pretentious image that Ducatis and/or their owners have exhibited.

Couple questions...What's the range on this bike? And how about maintenance i.e. valve adjustments? Are you happy with your SD? Does KTM back their bikes well with respect to warranty? Does the dealer network suck donkey balls in the U.S....?

The answer to your question is YES
You cannot really compare the two bikes as they really are very diferent animals
The suspension is far more sporty on the superduke and it turns in perfectly where as the ducati is supposed to be a bit softer
the tank range sounds about the same from what you say about yours you will get further on an 07 superduke cos it has the larger tank
When i read up about rthe superduke before i bought one i could only find minor technical problems that reared thier heads and if i took a look at the ducati forums i am sure that i would find a lot of things to put me off
On the whole i think it is the best bike i have ever owned (and i have had a few)
Does your bike have the engine from the 999 in it ?if so the servicing costs on there own should be pushing you towardss the superduke
trust me i bought mine without even riding one

Your engine is a real good motor unfortunately it is very highly tuned hence the very expensive service costs (my mate does have one )
The suspension on the super duke was made for the superduke as ktm own WP
I believe this is why the bike habndles so sweetly as they have really put the effort in to get it to handle right straight out of the box
The suspension on the ducati may well be top notch gear but have they spent as long setting it up especially for it
The rear shock could well be a shock that was on the shelf that would do the job
