Other Hobbies/Money drains...

Just wondering if anyone has any other money draining Hobbies...

I am currently building a 1976 Jeep CJ 7. I initially started to do the project as a gift to my father (was his), I was going to give it to him fixed up.
It is currently in as many pieces as it could possibly be... "Frame off" so to speak. It has been a long project since I torn my arm apart 2 months after starting the project...and it took three years to fix my arm. For a year after my first surgery I didn't know my arm was still broken and just held together with screws...So I sort of worked on it during this time, although anything I did cause me immense pain. I also kept purchasing parts for it here and there over the last few years...

I'm basically just building a mild V8 (Factory) ,automatic turbo 400 (factory)4"-5" lifted CJ7, 35" tyres. It is the "Levis" edition in Tan. This Jeep has been in our family for 32 years. It has a few nice Factory options i.e boxed frame, wheel well style headers to side pipe.

Now suddenly everything seems to be coming together mechanically and suspension wise. I still have a bunch of body work to do....
My motor is rebuilt, I need to assemble it (next couple of weeks). My Transmission will be ready for pick up at the end of the month. I hope to have my frame done in POR15 in the next couple of weeks...I have the suspension ready to go....

I just took three weeks vacation and when I'm not riding i hope to be working on the CJ........ and according to the wife ...the fooken yard....

Here is how it looked when i brought it home..lol

Wife, 2 year old and 6 litre Vauxhall Monaro all consume vast quantities of cash.......all fun though....

Before ill health stopped it all my passion/money drain was Bodybuilding -

Image

Constant routine of training, eating, supplements, drugs etc etc etc, an average 12week diet running up to a show would cost anywhere between £2500 & £3000 so by the end of a year id probly of spent somewhere in the region of £8 - £10K, times this by the 6 years i competed and you can see it was a huge ca$h drain for very little return

Would i do it all again - FUK YER dude! and as soon as my health is bak il be back in the gym pounding iron, il never compete again and my goals have changed but i still luv the banging and clanging of heavy weights
I have been into bodybuilding for around 24 year now...and yeah it's not cheap....people think you just go to the gym and lift weights ha ha.....if only.
I met shaun ray, berry de may, bertil fox, and the main man (uk) dorian yates back stage at the england show....that guy was a monster.
