Pipe dream

I was checking out the Remus Hexacones on one of the treads the other day and I thought is this what is reffered to as a pipe dream?
I pictured an olde tallow candle maker slash leather worker taking his wares to the village. After a hard weekend of sales he's back at his cottage puffing on his pipe and dreaming that someday he could afford donkey to pull his cart into town instaed of him pushing every Friday. Nothing but a pipe dream.
We say " by the way" on many occasions and this sounds so olde world to me also.
By the way, Virgil saw the donkey he would later dream about.
By the way, I saw those new pipes on a bike.
By the whey, I saw the curds
By the way, I saw the kurds.
Olde world sayings do not seem to fit well in some applications.
The new "by the way" is Facebook and pipe dreams have the smell of stale bong water.

I dont think anyone wants you to leave, well maybe a couple but not the majority free speech and all that, but if you post what a good percentage of members think is utter shite then expect go get shot down

Can't ban him, aggreed he talks sh$t but it is other peeps comments that makes it funny.

A bit like a bad fart, when it comes out it is moderately entertaining but it is other peoples reactions that makes it hilarius.

Wondering out load where the term "pipe dream" come from is a far cry from poetry or poem.
You spend an inordinate amount of time posting about my posts. You do not need to use me as a topic of vitriolic
verse. I am not special, you will continue on the put down out of nature, I not the first and I am sure will not be the last. Superior is your goal and you will stop at nothing till your idea of it reaching across oceans is accomplished.

I haven't a clue what you rabbit on about half the time Dribble,but i admire the fact that you are prepared to stand up and defend yourself no matter what, on that alone i say stay.Too many folk would run and hide and never post again but not you + i find it entertaining and look forward to Ronins replies as i know he finds it hard to resist

I find my self increasingly intrigued reading Dribbles posts as to what the person behind the ramblings actually looks like........
the image that has formed in my mind is rather strange, I see a bearded slightly fat figure in a lumberjack shirt and worn jeans sitting on a porch upon a chair of his own making,
a few wood shavings trapped in his beard, a laptop and an empty bottle of bourbon on the table beside him and a banjo laid in his lap,

imagine something between one of the bearded ZZ top guys and a hillbilliy from the movie Deliverence

Met up with Ronin and GinReaper and the Duchess last night for drinks....I was told of this thread. Upon reading it, i realised i was one fo the first to read the initial dribble but as usual it's indecipherable qualities led my mouse straight to the 'back' button to find something i could actually make sense of.

Having not replied, I was not tracking it until now....
