I have no problem with Obama, it's his puppeteers and friends that are reason for alarm.

I am sure that Obama is a nice guy and means well, but he has friends and people that he has supported financially that are raving racists, and one was a domestic terrorist. That is a huge red flag for me.

But my main problem with him is his plan to raise taxes, which will cost jobs and hurt the economy. He is also rabidly anti-gun, which is an automatic issue for me.

Obama is just more of the same old Ted Kennedy extreme Liberal Left Wing stuff, in a new package.

Not sure how he will turn out, I am hoping that now that he is in and Bush is gone and they take a long look at his stances on things, that most Americans will not look favorably at his more extreme views and he will moderate them.

The thing to remember is that 48% of America voted against him, so it is not like everyone loves him and what he stands for. He really only won because millions of blacks who have never registered to vote in their lives, came out in droves to elect the first black President. And I can understand that, even if I do not agree with it.

The other thing is that Obama ran against Bush, and enough idealistic young voters who don't make good money and therefore don't care about taxes, really had nothing to lose by sticking it to the man.

Almost 40% of Americans in this country don't pay federal income tax, so his plan of raising taxes didn't concern a lot of people.

We shall see what happens.

America has survived through worse things... I dont think this is going to be the end of it. Its going to get worse... its going to be no one persons fault... and we are just going to have do deal with it the best we can. So you can complain and whine.. or you can direct your energy in a positive and productive way to help the country. Get involved in politics. Call your congressmen and representatives. Tell them what you think and want. Thats all we can do in this democratic republic aside from voting.

For once in my life I truly feel lost... here I am 52 yo,(53 in 1 month from this day), thought I knew who I was and what I stood for, I agree the most with Rotten Randy, how people in a motorcycle forum can cut on each other this way is way beyond my ability to comprehend, it is unfathomable to me. To voice my opinion I have and I think if everyone places all of the testosterone and bravado aside and would really get honest we would not have this kind of talk. Unfortunately the hormones run through all of our veins and makes us say crazy things. This is what fingers and fonts do to people when there is no real physical contact, otherwise joe would reach out and touch someone. You think about all of this BIG MAN talk, well I think it would be a totally different story if we were all in the same room in person, manners would be used or an ass whoopin would be executed. This is all new to me, I do not completely understand this non-personal way of communication, I conduct myself in this place exactly the way i do where I sit right now, most of the time I am a gentleman but when the time comes I can be scrappy, I want respect and common courtesy and I want to give exactly what I get. No more, No less. The way you can tell that this is true, I say too much, the reason is I do not know any better, those that know these things i am now learning about say a few words this is all they say, and I believe this what happened here tonight is the reason most people only say a few words because of the threat of attack.
