Reminiscing

Any of you guys ever stop and think about what once was? This is way too general of a question when applied to everything in life and would have way too many answers. I'm wondering more if you guys ever think about old bikes you've had and are gone now. Regret selling one? Mad you broke one? Wish you would have bought something else instead at one point?

I just came across a short video I took of my first bike after 2 years and it started bringing back memories (good and bad) that I had with it. It's nice to reminisce about nonetheless.

My beautiful Kawasaki S3. Should never have sold it - but I did to move up to my first IL4 and left the 1970s behind, along with the Castrol'R', long hair, patched jeans, AGV helmets and cowboy-boots.

No names, just the way it was. The younger generation feels the need to label everybody these days, no one can just 'BE'.

Yeah I suppose you guys are right lol. I'd like to think I'm at least on the cusp of the last of the decent generation before it all went to total shit!!

Reminiscing about Sunday ride outs with 10 or 20 mates and our birds on the back. None of this solo seat, middle-aged, blokey thing. It was meet down the pub, pint of shandy and then off on a circuit of the counrtyside raising hell with the sheep and bikers meeting points. (Devils bridge, Rivington BVarn etc.) Leading this lot is my mate on an Ian Dyson KH400, followed by a GT250 and RD250.

Reminiscing about mates coming over and doing burnouts in front of our house much to the disappointment of my parents. Here's Tony on a Dunstall GS1000. Note, Steve Baker helmet, he was our hero.

Reminiscing about the Transatlantic Trophy events. They were brilliant. Here, how intimate and relaxed it all was at Oulton Park in those days. I could have reached out and patted Barry on the back as he rode across the mud and grass at the end of a battle. He was out hero too.

First time watching at OLivers Mount!!!! I was leaning over the hedge a bit too far and nearly got my head taken off by some idiot called Mick Grant ..........Standing in the bar at Redgate Lodge, Donnington, Saturday night before a british championship round and laughing that much I pissed myself after hearing Phil Mellor calling Roger Marshalls girlfriend the ugliest person in the pub ( old timers will get it )
I could go forever
