Riding naked....

Title should get some people in here!

Anyways..... I've never owned a naked bike before, always had a windscreen of some type. I'm looking at getting a new helmet and was wondering if going for one with a smaller profile is worth it? I understand the bigger the object the more wind resistance. Just wondering if you guys have had any issues with helmets on naked bikes in regards to wind resistance and shoulder checks and such.

I'm looking at the Shoei RF 1200 and GT Air.... Leaning towards the 1200

Have the touring screen on my R and to be honest, there is MUCH less to no helmet buffeting compared to riding behind a stock or WindBender windshield on a GL1800 Goldwing.

Start exercising those neck muscles of yours.
When you hit that 120mph+, no matter what helmet you are wearing you will battle that wind!
As they say "real man ride naked twins"...so man up

+1 on buffeting. In fact, I'm amazed at how little (relatively speaking) buffeting you get on the 1290. But to your question about helmets, I have a Schuberth SR1 that, while pricy, exhibits impressive aerodynamics. Check out the SR1's review here:

I have lots of brains, and wear a 2XL helmet (63cm skull).

Neck gets a bit sore after cruising at 100+ for half an hour or so but occasional jaunts to 130+ don't cause any problems. I may be unable to fully button up a shirt since I started riding naked bikes though...
