A parent has the responsibility to keep their children out of harms way. My last post was that I had hoped that this child had begged to be let onto the track. This bike appears to be a new experiment for the future of the lowest level compitition in the premier class of racing. It was a 250 four stroke, a bike that is unfamiliar to many in the paddock, including Peter. If harm is a word that is so ambiguous, I guess, death, is in the hands of children.

Any one remember lawn darts. They sold millions. Little Johnny wants to play with lawn darts. He has aspirations of becoming the lawn dart champion. What say you parents, he really wants it, and has to start at an early age to be competitive with all the other kids that have parents that let their kids start at an early age. He would be at a huge disadvantage if he had parents that did not throw caution to the wind in the same capacity as other parents. It may appear from the outside a law of deminishing returns. You hear of the dad that tells little johnny to "Get out of that tree" did he take away Johnny's chances of becoming a tight rope walker?

So sad, makes me feel sad for all of those that have had such a tragedy to deal with. I have personally lost most all of my dearest friends to motorcycle fatalities, two in the last 8 months.

I have a choice as do all of you. I have chosen to break away from the pack of hooligans with whom I am accustomed to traveling with, they have upped the pace and I am not prepared to take that type of unnecessary risk at this time.

Lost my best friend ever on labour day 14 years ago, same circumstances as most, too fast a pace for the conditions. I make a point to not travel on high population holidays, I managed not to be there when it occurred.
