Road or Track

So you've managed to wrangle a riding Sunday from whatever authority rules your life, and managed to fill the wallet enough during the week to safely abuse it over the weekend.

You've got a good quality yet tightish racetrack near home with an affordable trackday on offer.
You've also got a sweet set of twisties that lead you on a very nice 300km roundtrip, with a TT RDHS'esque pub midway.
The bike is sorted and primed with fuel, the sun is shining...

And all your buddies are looking to you for the answer...

Which are you going to do?

Assuming the funds and location are all in place, track without a doubt.

Although after the ride through Wales on friday i can easily see why i used to LOVE doing that every Saturday with a few of the boys. Stopping off at Bewts-y-coed and having a pint in the sun...

Damn.... right time and right place, it's a tough question.

just a fair warning to all, it is faster than it looks, for a great road rider to go full out at the track is a feat in itself,

a lifetime of road does not equal a fast track rider, balls to the walls is the nugget in a word.

Most get too hot into the corner and quickly cook the brakes, the SD is great if only for the engine braking and hard drive out of the apexes.

Love the suspension on the SD, stellar! takes much conditioning unless ye are just a natural talent, and most are youngsters fresh from dirt racing.

for the sam e reason as wrebitup said I voted road cos it is a limitless adventure with many a winding turn, all new all great, unplotted territories.

Love road riding but the bends arent long enough. There is no marshal letting you know that a combine harvester is blocking the racing line. The surface is unreliable. Mr Myopia is turning right in front of you. The speed limits were set in the 60's for cars with wooden brakes. And enforced by Nazis with all kinds of cameras. The public hate us. Wildlife loves us and wants to get real close. You only get one go at each corner and there is lots of hard stuff to hit if you f**k it up.

Track for me...............At Mallory there is even a bird in the canteen that looks like Lisa Stansfield.

On the other hand, The noise limits are getting stupid. The good companies are going bust and the bad ones keep putting the prices up. TOO MANY F****ING RED FLAGS. Did I mention the cost? TOO MANY BLACK FLAGS - YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO OVERTAKE IN CORNERS OR WHAT IS THE POINT? Supercorsa Pros are far too dear for a disposable item. All the w***ers you ever met on the road are there but armed with an ego.
