I was looking for a small stove for camping and coffee stops. I bought a Jet Boil from a camping outfitter and have been pleased as punch with its ability to heat water at record breaking pace. The problem is it is worthless for all other applications. I saw and copied a design from the enterweb called the penny stove. I modified it a little and came up with a great way to pack a lot of punch in the travel stove field. You can use it to just boil water or you can cook just about anything in it. You can use it as a double boiler and place your favorite canned soup, chili, stew, well anything canned ,sept a ham. It uses alcohol as the fuel source. That is denatured as first pick, grain as second choice and isopropyl as third and last choice. It is made from the bottums of two monster Monster cans fitted together with a little fiberglass insulation thrown inside. The pictures I have added show it in the double boiler mode. heating the water in the pan to heat the substance in the can. the complete unit including the wind shield take up the space of a small backpackers pan. I have been camping-riding-touring on month long journeys through Mexico,US and thrown in a bit of Canada. I know how to pack allot of punch in a little space. I think this is going to be the cat's meow. PS If you use grain alcohol Bicardi 151 or Everclear as your fuel it will also serve as a potent afferdinnah drank.
