My SDR hasn't seen the road/track now for about six weeks so to get my adrenaline rush i'm swapping between hobbie's as well as going out on the piss now and again.
Firstly i'm Kayaking twice a week usually in the dark after work doing about 5 mile each visit. Even fitted a little red light on the back for safety not that anyone else is about though should i capsize and freeze to death.

Secondly i'm out on my Honda XR 400 trying to improve my riding skills and realising that i'm not the fastest off roader.

And thirdly when i get a bit of spare time i have a dable at fishing.I've got myself a small boat with outboard that fits neatly into the back of my old merc sprinter so i'm off down the river.

Work gets in the way most of the time but given half a chance i'm off doing something roll on summer!

I got a bit sunburnt last week! I had a job in Safaga, southern Egypt and ended up with a day off by the pool. Wasn't pleased when easyjet canceled my flight back on Friday though. Had to fly on Saturday via cairo.

Back to reality tomorrow morning though, 0500 job on the Thames, and if we can't get the radar connected before 1100 I'll have to sail to Holland with the poxy ship.

Kids grown up mate (23 and 20 yr old ladds) got divorced in 2003 so i could pursue my hobbie's more without getting nagged to death
I've gradually assembled my toy's quitely over the year's so now it's just a question of finding the time to fit it all in,the weekends just arn't long enough
Fishing wise i'm a carp chaser and when i get the urge i'm gone for weeks at a time fook the work i'll just phone in sick, you only live once

Cowelly

I did canoeing about 30 odd years ago as a squaddie,i'd forgoten all i knew but decided two years ago just to get out there and do it,my aim is to do a seal entry from the bridge in the background well that's my aim wether or not i have the bottle to do it is another thing
I know what you mean about the expence of off roading but at the mo i'm keeping my foot on my wallet and sticking with my XR 400 and thrashing around the countryside greenlaning which with the right people is uber competative A sixday's exc 450 is very tempting though, but at nearly 7 grand it wont end up in my garage any time soon

I'm luckier than most.

We emigrated from the UK to Australia 4 years ago and now live in Queensland. I can therefore get out on the bike every day.

Winter gets a bit chilly - goes down to freezing over night, but up to around 18C in the day. It's now summer, so the problem here is mid day temps of 40C, believe me - that's hot in leathers.
