My wifes grand father was a tail gunner on a B-17 , he survived 27 missions over Germany, and he went through 3 crew's , everyone had been killed but him, always a couple on a mission, gotta respect a guy like that,,hated the NAZI'S ,, he reciently got to go up in one of the only surviving planes left in existance that still fly today,,they let him get right up in the cockpit ,,for a one hour flight ....,,I had two of my uncles that were in the D-day invasion, one at OMAHA and one at UTAH, my uncle Joe cried uncontrolably every memorial day for many years until his death in 06,,he never could talk about it,,,, what if we hadn't won that war and that nut-case had taken the British isles,,,,NY would have been next,,, that guy was so full of hate,, thank god we stopped him,,,
