Questions,

Why are values of used ones low?

I'd guess that's partly as a result of the 06 models going new for just under £7,000 last August. Other than that your guess is as good as mine...

They seem to hang around dealers when used?

Again, possibly as a result of further discounted '06 new stock.

Can anyone provide the costs of the 600 mile 1st service, 2nd and 3rd?

Can't remember, sorry

What price is a fair one for a 2006 new model?

I'd pitch for somewhere between £6,000 and £6,500, depending on what else they'll chuck in (alarm etc). Mine was only £6,995 August of last year, including a decent alarm and that's when the '07 was a long way from being ready. Now '07 models are all in I reckon you could carve yourself a decent bargain. Either that or go for one for £7,000 but with the akra EVOs and the 16 tooth sprocket included. They're worth it!

The 2007 has a larger fuel tank, does this really make a big difference?

It will make a difference, specially if your fuel consumption is a shocking as mine! It would be the only real reason I'd consider swapping for a new '07, but I prefer the look of the '06s.

Foe a 2006 model, what mileage do you look to re fuel at?

Mine is a poor example, but I get 11 litres in at 70 miles. Believe the usable capacity is about 14 1/2 litres......I'm getting about 6 1/2 miles per litre, meaning I'd run empty at 90 miles or thereabouts.....but I ride like a tw@t, I know of others getting far beter mileage.

Would you buy another? when you sell your existing one?

Yes yes yes, no doubt about it, the best bike I have ever ridden bar none. I can't imagine getting anything else. I'm intending to hold on to mine for a couple more years until KTM bring out the venom (hopefully) - A 1200 naked in the same vein.....

What is the quality like,

Excellent - mine has done a full winter and has stood up remarkably well. Minor stone chip damage on the engine covers, but easily replaced or covered. Other than that it's pretty much mint still. I don't garage mine either so it's outside in all weather.

Did anyone sell a Ducati for a Super Duke, if so what was the major differences?

Nope, but others have.

Sorry to ask so many questions, help appreciated

No problem.......now GET ONE!!!

The £28.33 first service must have been heavily subsidised by your dealer, mine was definitely over £200, possibly closer to £300.....and that's with a KTM subsidy! It includes valve head clearance checks, so a time consuming job....

rog, I bought my bike from Premier and they did do the valve clearances on the first service, however they neglected to enter a service code in my book prompting the discussion I had with my new dealer Tri County who pointed out the omission and it's relevance.

I had no real problems with Premier though, I only changed as a new dealer opened up closer to me.

They should also ask for your bike the night before as the work needs to be done when the engine is cold

Go buy one.

I bit the bullet and did a deal on one this morning.

Picked it up this afternoon-stunning the bike.

The 07 and 05 bikes are like chalk and cheese. The 07 is so much more sorted FI-wise and it seems to pull much better, even with 0 miles on the clock.

I did read in a mag that the combustion chambers had been redesigned for more torque.

Too right !!
