Well, the WC is now officially over. It was fun, but thank the Lord we can now go back to concentrating on proper sports here in South Africa (Rugby Union )!!!
Anyway, the better (less worse) team won, and a horrible game of soccer it was. I'm obviously not a big fan of the 'beautiful game' and if the players continue to behave the way they have been, then they're going to lose the fans they DO have.
Anyway, the better team was and 1 - 0 to them. Goal scored in the 2nd half of extra time.
Netherlands just played shite. Seriously, I think they got 7 yellow cards (one upped to red), and Arjen Robben's antics would have been hilarious if it wasn't so embarrassing.
I'm a 4th gen Dutchie (surname is 'van der....') and wanted Netherlands to win. But by halftime I changed my opinion; a team with that attitude doesn't deserve to win.
