Super Motards

Hey guys,

been looking at a manic motard as another toy and as we have some twisty roads near me.

so here are what I've narrowed it down to

my fav, the husaberg fs570
http://www.husaberg.com/Supermoto.301.14.html

the aprilia sxv 550
http://www.aprilia.com/en-US/Model/56/S ... rview.aspx

or the husqvarna sm510
http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/_v ... pstry=198_

it seems as though since husaberg was bought out by ktm, they are no longer tempramental as opposed to the aprilia (which is my fav) but is known to go boom! new engine coming out in 2011.

who has experience with any of these bikes?

Excellent forum here for SM's.

I've not ridden any, but have been close to buying most of the above and read lots on them.

Expect 1 rebuild a year on them. Full rebuild that is £1000GBP is usual on a yearly basis.

Tank ranges of 50 miles not uncommon.

However they seem to be amazing fun and the best pleasure you can have on 2 wheels.

I was tempted by the Husky 510smr or sm510r if being picky but in all honesty the 610SM made a lot more sense.

In the end, common sense prevailled and i got the SD again.

I'd go for the 'Berg myself.

I owned the Husky SM610, currently have the Duke 690 and have ridden my buddies SXV 550.

All good bikes, but it depends on what you're looking for and what's important to you.

your right on my wave of thinking, i'm currently looking for a motard/something for fraser island.
on the above bikes the only advice i have is don't touch the sxv, heaps of power but its a grenade.
i'm considering something smaller, specifically a wr450 mainly cause i want the wheely the bastard and drop it and not give a hoot.
good luck with the search and be sure to post your new purchase.
