There is little support for foreigners seeen to be exploiting out welfare state and rightly so. However, there is major support and I agree that Gurkha servicemen should have the right to live here and / or receive the same pension and benefits as our other servicemen.

Given that most of the illegal's you see trying to enter this country are 20 something males.

And given that no UK resident 20 year old in their right mind wants to join the army for the forseeable future.

It makes sense that prospective immegants to this country are required to serve a term of national service in Afghanistan for a few years. If you arent willing to fight this country's wars you shouldnt be willing to expect this country's benefits.

As many illegals are opting to avoid conscription in their country of origins armies this would reduce the number looking to live here.

As for home reared scrounger mentality I agree some kind of community work should be enforced but then I think prisoners should be made to do likewise.

Have you had a bad run in with an illiterate long haired copper today? [/quote]

Havent we all. This equal opportunities thing has a lot to answer for.

Remember when they all looked like Dixon of Dock Green and knew the time when you asked? Remember when Newsreaders had to speak the Queen's english? Postmen used to know where local places were and the AA / RAC had to salute you?

Nowdays

Policemen are all younger than you and complete with attitude from a youth spent watching too much Sweeney. Newsreader's, well television presenters in general, are employed by their shade on a colour chart. Postmen seem to be asylum inmates doing their care in the community and recovery drivers are the 5th emergency service i.e late, rude, patronising and on strike when you need them
The national Police recruitment drive over the last six years is now almost at a standstill, due to the minors stike when the last mass recruitment drive of coppers joined 30+ years ago, they are all retiring and the places had to be filled by those of which you stated.

Least I get to retire when im 53 23years 9months to go.....

As for attitude yeah there is alot of that unfortunately, you wanna see all the probies with tazer's now....... they asked me if I wanted one I declined the offer.

Aside from all that shit, you should know that there are more than a thousand British-born jihadis throwing bombs at British soldiers in Afghanistan. More than a thousand.
