throttle response and covering the front brake

Alright all you SD pilots and track fans, see if you can help me with this one. Ever since I started riding Ive got into the habit of covering the front brake with two fingers to save reaction time if I ever needed to grab a handfull. Its saved my bacon a few times !

Since having the SD Ive found this almost impossible to do when going through the twisties. Problem is the SD is so sensitive to throttle input and has the potential flip between launch mode or sudden engine braking when Im trying to maintain a trailing or constant throttle through a corner. I've had no problem with this and covering the brake as well on any of my other bikes. I find a fraction of a mill on the SD's twist grip is enough to upset things going through a corner.

Now, I know the SD aint exactly a beginner's bike, and I can control this nicely, but only if I break the habit of a lifetime and take my fingers off the brake and use all of my hand on the twistgrip. I guess a slower throttle cam could help, or, I could just let go of my security blanket - the front brake but does anyone else have this problem?

I do the same with the covering of the front brake, round town and slower riding it does become a problem with the twichy throttle and jerking around (even with the G2 cam) but when hooning around and giving it plenty it all smothes out and never ever feels like a problem at all - these KTM`s really are bike that like to be ridin hard and reved hard!

If you are riding aggressively enough to not be able to cover the front brake, let's hope the need to cover the front brake won't come up while riding at this pace. "Coverage" is to be prepared for the unexpected - if you are pushing the SD hard on public roads, you are already getting the unexpected. Play safe.

Also have/had this problem - Using the back brake a lot more but still not ideal. I'm getting a bit better though, just practice.
Also, if I'm not 'on it', I sometimes adjust the brake a bit closer and it helps with keeping a bit more hand on the throttle for a little more control...

I'm far from the best rider in the world, so my advise might not be advisable...

Grendel does not trust people on the road. He rides covering the brake too. The brakes on the SD are great with lots of feel. He only uses one finger on the lever (guess which one?) This allows very precise throttle control.
