Seriously though.
The problem at present with the Superduke website is simple. I joined in 2007 when I bought my bike and was overawed by the passion, knowledge and previous expertise available on this forum. There are people who are legends on this site who I owe a lot to. Some do not come on here any more or are dead. There was so much to discover about the Superduke, both original version and then the new '07 model, knowledge to be shared and pondered upon. There were so many problems and opportunities to improve the bike....and every one shared this experience and the forum was full of development and new discovery.
But we solved all the problems over the years. Everything has been discovered and shared and implemented.
For a while attention turned to speculation about the new successor to the SD and what KTM would produce to keep up to date. And we all speculated like mad! At the same time interest in the 990 subdued because everyone had already done everything they could to their bikes and all newcomers just had to search the forum or ask the obligatory questions only to be guided to the search engine or repeatedly be informed by patient members as to the way to get their SD sorted. Blah blah.
Then the new 1290 was launched and initiated a whole host of discussion and arguments but has not yet had any time to really have any owner development or real appraisal. Give it a chance guys!
So this forum is in a state of flux.
The old SD is well known and doesn't get, or need, a constant hum of activity about it's ownership and the 1290 has not yet got to the stage where knowledge has been gained.
And yet we have thousands of forum members logging on every day to keep in touch and see what's going on. Well nothing really. So we all get to bitching about what people say and have a go at each other over the smallest of things.
That's what I think is really going on.
