UFC 129

Is anyone else as stoked as I am that this fight is happening?

By "this fight" I mean the fight between George St. Pierre and Jake Shields. This could go down as one of, if not THE best fight in recent MMA history. it is the highest-selling fight for sure, as all 55,000 seats are sold out. Crazy!

The rest of the card doesn't suck, either...

I enjoy a good bit of UFC but I have to say with our TV subscriptions I find it tricky to keep track of when and where it's aired. I've seen G St P fight before though I think and it was gooood.

Hope it comes to TV soon here....and by TV I mean not pay per view.

£10 gets you ESPN for a month. There's 2 UFC main events a month more often than not.

You may be suprised but since Jan strikeforce is on PPV here! it's only £10 per event though.

I didn't realise Couture / Machida was on that card, and Aldo fighting.

With the MotoGP this weekend it's gonna be hot tv all the way!

I don't often get the PPV fights, but this one is worth paying for.

Last night I caught the end of a UFC unleashed show that Machida had fought on, and I heard Mike Goldberg say something about a possible Machida/Wanderlei Silva fight....he's past his prime, sure, but I will watch ANY fight the Axe Murderer is in....

I'm not sure how long it will last Matt.

One thing here is a UFC event will start at 0300 (0200) with the new timings on Sunday morning, which makes it hard to sell at mega bucks. We watch on Sunday mornings from the recorder.

BTW - I assume you know the places to watch for free online?

Well I must admit, I didn't watch Pride while it was current.
My girlfriend got me watching MMA and part of my "education" was watching pride DVDs!

Machida's knock out was awesome!.

I thought the main event was pretty average.

I was really impressed by the guy who beat Nate Diaz.

Right on the money,'Pete. Machida's KO was just sick. Matyushenko(?) is a BEAST. I was pretty happy to see Nate Diaz get his ass beat.

The St. Pierre fight unfortunately went about as expected. No big risks by either guy. All in all a pretty good night.
