So here we are, pain in the arse, took two attempts because of security on the server blah blah excuses.

Hopefully no one has been locked out, the all important button is at the top to see new post.

If anything goes a bit weird for anyone PM me please, this is a good starting point for suggestions etc which will be done on a feasibility and urgency order and timescale for starters i'll look for some better smilies, then an icon, then RSS feeds, then tapatalk.

The server is still building the search which will be finished by 2012 i reckon, and the server couldn't handle importing the gallery so i need to speak to the Greeks about that and get that up another day (it's just empty at the moment).

Should be as it was for mods and admins with a few extra tabs here and there, the converter moved over most of the settings from the old system.

Sorry for the abrupt maintenance message.

P.S. if the site LOOKS fooked try bashing Ctrl+F5 (Cmd+r on a twat box) to get the new bits of the site skin.

I nearly freaked out when I logged on this morning, didn't realise how familiar you get with a site and when it changes it's a big shock. Looks good though.

Quick question. Can't seem to embed YouTube vids in a message. Anyone know the code to do this?? wrapping flash* around the URL doesn't do it.

dougle great job... can you do a quick explanation why going to the new version? This may help some of the guys who do not like change to see the advantages.

Just one other thing... is it possible to have a dark background and white writing? Easier to read i think

Well done Dougle, in a matter of weeks you took on and completed this piece of work that the rest of us only thought about for the last year, maybe two, top notch!

The first time I wrote this though I backspaced a couple of times and ended up on the forum index and lost this post so I'm not sure what happened there

Dougle perfectly explained why the change was needed.
Running such an old version of the forum was a pain in the behind for the mods and a nightmare waiting to happen (vurnerable to hackers).
So another big thank you to dougle.

Good work fellas... New functionality is great... Thanks for all the hard work in keeping the site fresh, up to date and working as it should. I look forward to the extra spam filtering, to hopefully clear my inbox of most of the new fake users we have to delete every day.

As a creative/comms professional I would comment that the dark-grey text on a light-grey/white background is a bit harsh on the eyes, and the usual navigation principles on most websites dictate tools & navigation to the left, and copy/content to the right... but I'm nitpicking, and if it stays like this people will get used to it in no time.

I am not one to know the "etiquette" of web site layout. I am happy that the site is here and I will be tickled in four weeks when I figure out what the new features are and in twenty-seven weeks whenI learn how to use one or two of them. This will surely spawn a litany of post ups of You Tube spew. At least you will get a glimpse of the subject matter and not have to link to the site to see you wasted your time.
Do I still post up pics through a photo managing site?
I think Dribble looks better looking over my post from the right site. The tie over links during rebuild were a speacial feature that saved me from having withdrawal symptoms, I laughed at the last "here" and said now There is a person that understands spirited ride.

Haha glad you will stick around DribbleDuke, while the site was converting i did my tax return, caught up on the dakar, checked how to do my suspension and then nearly snapped my cock off. Good times.

Ah now that could be a problem I've not pic whored for a while but with spring not too far away those days could be returning and I can't have anything spoiling that! With the old style you were able to scroll across and get the image in.... Or if you have a nice wide screen monitor like me then just go full screen

Dougle is it a massive problem to switch the info/avatar to the left?

Ash. Your bike is looking very mean and good. I liked it a lot. Looking very stripped down and minimal, like the bellypan gone too. Then I siddenly realised it has no exhausts on it! That's going a bit far no?

An SD without it's 'kini looks wrong, though i'm wondering what a set of short slash cut pipes would look like, mmmm

Um moving profile info over to the left is not a biggy (at first glance) though it is perplexing me as i consider this to be the natural order, left to right, main content then meta info about the main content, as in:

Dear blah,

Main Blah

From Blah

if only there were a user setting: lefties and righties

I am please that people are generally happy to have moved up a gear on here.

As Dutch said, I think this problem would be fixed by reverting the user info/avatar to the left, so at to not have a fixed border on the right.

Thing is Pete for us Mods this upgrade is a dream come true. Email spam has gone from 60 a day to 6. Also some of the new features like youtube are nice to have. Once the layout/look is finally sorted you will hopefully get used to and come to appreciate it.

Having played around on here for a bit I would agree with those that suggest Avatars etc need to be on the left.

If we could get the old skin, or a current version not far off it that'd be good too IMO
