Another Aussie from Brisbane

Hi all, have just picked up a 1290 duke after playing around with my 990SMT for the last few years. Thanks heaps to Kevxtx for all his advice over the years with the SMT and I guess here is the next project bike.

Not yet but it will be coming out over Easter sometime. It is a bit quite with the DB killer in so hopefully is will sound better with it out. My SMT sounded awesome with the wings cans with the DB killers removed. It would be nice to get close to that.

Looking good, seems a lot of us SMR/SMT riders are moving towards the 1290 attraction & not the 1190.

Thanks Kev, the new lever extenders worked spot on by the way, they look better than the stock ones. Let me know of you are going to get out for a ride over Easter.

G'day from a little further north, but I am sure you guys will see me at some point as I ride into the city every day, got one of the faster black 1290's. in fact I past an orange one this morning going the other way at a set of lights.

Just about to clock 9000k's so will be looking for it's second service in a month or so.

Can any of you recommend a good KTM dealer in Bris, looking to avoid paying the rip off Sunshine Coast prices this time round.
Looking for a good one though, would rather do it myself, but I think KTM can void warranty if it is not serviced by KTM, suppose it's a small price to pay for this other side of the coin over here with warranty having to be honoured for what is considered to be a reasonable time based on the cost of the item, so 25k is going to see my warranty run for quite a while over 24 months, will be closer to the 5 year Hyundai warranty.

Wonder how that would actually work, voiding a warranty that we don't even need in Queensland

Welcome mate, i'm a new member from Brissie aswell! Love your new ride, they really are an amazing machine. Maybe we could organise a KTM ride day some day with some local Brisbane members, would look great having a line of Super Dukes cruising together.

Any Saturday or Sunday morning I am up for a ride.

Well how about we make this happen. I am tied up for the next 2 weekends but would love to have a run with some dukes after that. Possible meeting place at the Aspley Hypermarket where they do the rider training, then go wherever. Mt Glorious or Dayboro/Mt Mee...... Maybe on Saturday 10May.....Thoughts or suggestions?

There is a BP at The Gap just before heading over MT Nebo, I usually meet a few riders there and then head over Nebo, Glorious, past Somerset and then back over Mt Mee. It is a good ride. The only drama is over Nebo and Glorious a lot of revenue raising takes so you have to be careful. I find the best place to ride is on the NSW boarder ranges, not the same need to be as careful. In any case I would be ok for the 10th of May and am happy to ride anywhere.

Relay impressed with the 1290's handling my last project was 188rwhp. 112ftlb b-kind that didn't like Tyres or corners. So it's grate to be able to go around corners again without scraping foot pegs or engine sliders
PS loving the V twin note after removing the db eater I think I need a hearing check.

Hi guys. Another SE QLD guy here. Put a deposit down on an orange 'used' (900kms old) 1290 yesterday. Should have it in 3 weeks or so once it comes up from Melbourne. Saying I can't wait is a massive understatement
