Another bloody newbie

Hi guys and girls.

I've just found this forum,having done a bit of a trawl through the 'net.

I'm toying with getting a new 07 SD.


I was keen to get one when they first came out but tried my local dealer's demo and was very disappointed by it,especially the FI and the twitchy front end.


I have had numerous bikes including a number of KTMs-2 different DukeIIs,950 Adv S,LC 640 SM,EXC 450,950 SE and EXC 250-F.

I'm now thinking about trading the 250 in for the black 07 SD at my dealer.

I would have possibly preferred the R but they aren't available,at least not without a major trawl around the Uk,and I have a px to consider in any case.


I have a couple of questions :


Is the FI on the new bike considerably better that the old bike ?

As I have down with most KTMs,if I get the SD I would,at some time,change the exhausts for the Evo Akras.


Has anybody any experience as to whether the full system makes much more difference than just the slip-ons ?


The full system seems bloody pricey,but I would be tempted if it is worth the extra.

Well,I picked her up and went for a quick spin.

What a bike !!

The FI seems so sorted and the engine is so smooth compared to the 05 bike I rode some time ago.
