Aye up from Manchester! Wannabe SD Owner needs some advice!

That's just the sort of riding I do with mine!
Commuting, sunday blasts in the mountains, even some touring, and I'll be using it for some trackdays this fall... I think this is how most of us use our SDs.

But as you don't want anything resting against your exhaust cans, I's say tankbags and tailbags are your best bet.

Right Ok! Thanks fellas. I think I'm pretty much sold.... nobody mentioned service intervals tho.... is it pretty normal like once a year or 5000 miles type stuff or more like ducati's where the cam belts need doing every 1000 miles type thing?

I do most of the service stuff on my car and bike , but only plugs, oil, brakes etc the easy to intermediate stuff, i wouldn't like to get into valve shimming or anything. Could I do servicing on an SD myself? Does any do it themselves or is strictly trained personnel only?
