Hi

Just bought my 05 SD 990

Sold my GSXR600 and got the best deal ever privately on the SD, was sold in the first 5 seconds of the test ride....

I have ridden a few bikes and had my eye on an CBR1100xx but the KTM was a surprise purchase. once I rode it couldn't look back. It reminded me of the best dirtbike experience I ever had but on steroids.

Seriously love this thing and this site is epic. good info directed me on purchase also.

Catch you all around!
Welcome!

Lots of information to be had. Just use the search button.

Let the customizing begin!
Welcome from the other side!
G'Day mate and welcome. Good to someone else from Perth here.
I came by my 06 990 the same way, it was not even on my radar but one test ride and I was hooked.
Easy bike to live with.
Great site with plenty of info and help (from most)
Ever need a hand with anything give us a PM.
Comrade Forcewielder: Welcome from the middle
Cheers all

Thanks for the welcome!

Addicted to the torque of my new machine already... I think I could be around for a while
Welcome to the nuthouse fella
Welcome dude! Post us a pic of the Beast!
i'm curious!
Welcome from sunny Melbourne, I did a similar thing , but made a costly error,
I went to trade my Honda blackbird XX in on a Honda CB1000R, when I got to the dealer they also had a 05 990 superduke, so I test rode the Duke as well, having never ridden a KTM road bike previously, I was soooo impressed with the KTM.
I test rode the Honda and The KTM back to back 4 times!, in the end I bought the Honda as it was younger and better maintained than the Duke on offer

Unfortunately it was a costly error, I owned the Honda for five weeks, I enjoyed it, but didn't love it, it was just too
Honda, did everything well, but gave no feedback, no "wanting to go for a blast", it just gave a basic transport feel, and
I just couldn't get the Duke out of my head, So five weeks later I traded the Honda and my BMW track bike for a
SD, it appears to me that regardless of the specific model, super Dukes are something special

Enjoy!!!!

Looks good! let the modding begin
A Dyno Tune might be in order, hopefully they can do that getting into the standard ecu without a Power commander?

Since the bike is out of warranty I think il be checking the tech section for maintenance. gotta learn some time. I can change the oil and filter on cars easy enough, how hard can it be right

Welcome mate.. First mod bar end mirrors Get the little round ones off eBay they cost about $40 I've had a set on my bike for over 4 years no problems.
Yes you will get ripped off at the bike shop plus they usually do a crap job its not their bike so they don't care.

G'day and welcome from the same time zone at least...

Where in Perth are you? I was up at Hillary's ten years.

Good luck with the bike. You'll love it.

Hi mate, welcome aboard!
I'm in Rockingham but leave my PCIII and TunECU at ProTwin in Wangara so he can tune the bikes.
He has done all of mine including the race one and is exellent.
